UserScript to count award images in Flickr photo comments
Thank you for your feedback Antonio. I am afraid I do not understand what you are referring to. To my knowledge, the script displays all comments and awards, newest first. That is one of its main function, provided of course that function is activated by checking the 'separate awards' and 'reverse comments order' boxes in the configuration panel, accessible through the '( configure )' link above the awards counts display area. Marc
Hi Marc,
Thank you for your reply.
When I started to use Flickr Award Counter, although showing up the right number of every award, Flickr would only display the most recent ones, as it normally does.
Now it shows everything which makes difficult to deal, specially when you have a few thousand comments.
Also, some of the image awards do not display correctly.
Now, instead of having Flickr Award Counter always on, I only use it when I need to know the countdown, which is not nice.
I hope you understand my explanation.
Best regards,

I'm afraid this is not a bug but a feature Antonio. FlickrAwardCounter has been displaying the whole history of comments/awards, at least ever since I took over its maintenance. To me, it is the most convenient option, which is set up by default in the configuration. The 'separate awards from comments' and 'reverse comments order' options are checked by default. That separates 'real' comments from awards, you have a convenient menu above the comments list to switch from comments to awards, and thanks to 'reverse comments order', the newest items are shown first. See second screenshot attached. However, if you would rather use the 'default' Flickr way of presenting awards and comments together, just uncheck the 'separate awards' option in FlickrAwardCounter's configuration (first attached screenshot). I am using Tampermonkey with Firefox on MacOS systems. M.
Hi Marc,
Thank you again for your reply and explanation, checked 'reverse comments order' and it's more convenient.
However when I turn on FlickrAwardCounter none of the "Les Schtroumpfs" groups images shows up.
Have a nice day.

I've had echoes of some group images not showing properly in FlickrAwardCounter from time to time, but never consistently, so never could do anything about it. If you can provide me with the url of a page that does not display the images as you expect them, as well as a screenshot of it, and maybe the url(s) for the group(s) involved, I may find the time to look into it further eventually. Cheers. M.
Hi Marc,
This is level 1 of Les Schtroumpfs groups:
https://www.flickr.com/groups/14783136@N24/
As I mentioned before, whenever I turn on FlickrAwardCounter none of the groups images shows up.
Another thing that came to mind is the images you use on the Photogem / Photo Power awards are different from the ones available and I wonder if FlickrAwardCounter counts them.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Best regards,

I do not use any images for FlickrAwardCounter, you do. It depends on how you have set up the configuration. I have no role in this selection, FlickrAwardCounter just tries to detect the pattern (usually the url of the group image) you have specified. As for the display of group images, first send me the url of a page where they are supposed to appear, together with a screenshot, and I'll see what I can do. M.
Hi Marc,
The two images from the same award (https://www.flickr.com/groups/14825257@N23/), with and without FlickrAwardCounter enabled.
Thanks and have a nice weekend.

Hello,
I’d like to report an issue with the "Flickr Award Counter" script.
The script used to work well, but recently I've noticed that while most of the award images still load correctly, the core functionality—filtering and displaying only the last awards and comments—no longer works. Instead, the script displays all awards and comments, making it difficult to keep track of new ones.
This seems to have started recently, possibly due to changes on Flickr’s side. I’m aware the award images come from external sources, but they don’t seem to be the issue here.
I'd appreciate if the script could be updated or reviewed to fix the filtering logic.
Thank you for your work on this!
